Subject:Son of Steven Robinson and Grandson of Jacob Lockwood

Good Morning!

My name is Bret Robinson and I’m the son of Steve Robinson and Grandson of Jacob Lockwood. As I am now expecting my first child I was hoping to find some photos of either of those two men aboard now that they are both deceased. I know this is probably a Hail Mary attempt, but I saw that some of you have posted your pictures from your time. Any help here is immensely appreciated.

Sadly, Tom Lamm let me know that a former shipmate has passed away at the young age of 59. Rest in peace, Linda.

Linda Denise Stansbury, 59, went home to be with the Lord after a sudden illness. She is survived by her son, Keith Preston Stansbury, her mother- Blanche Stansbury, brother- Ronald Stansbury, sisters- Lynette Scott , Bernadine Stansbury , and Jeanette Stansbury, brother- in- law- Arthur Scott, niece- Kelli Stansbury, Nephews- Damon Stansbury, Kevin Frazier, Jr., and Myles Stansbury, 3 Aunts , 1 uncle and a host of other extended nieces, nephews and relatives. She was predeceased by her father, James Stansbury, a World War II veteran with the 42nd Airborne, and a brother, Allen Stansbury, a Vietnam War veteran. Linda graduated from P.S. duPont High School and attended Mount Holyoke College. She was employed as a Merchant Marine for Sun Oil Co. for over 20 years until the shipline was sold. She went on to work at Shop Rite for over 15 years until 2016. She then became her mother’s primary caregiver. She loved to read and travel. Linda enjoyed listening to oldies and attending music concerts. She was always there to lend a helping hand to her family and friends. Subject:38 years with Sun Transport

Just want to mention that Nov. 1, 2017 I am now retired 20 years. where did the years go? I had such a wonderful time sailing for Sun and sailed with some of the best that ever went to sea. The sad part is that I am living to long and I read on the Fleet Sheet about lots of my ex shipmates that are now in the super tanker in the sky, It saddens my heart to read about there passing, some so much younger than me. I think of two of my Chief Engineers a lot. Ch Minor Kates and Ch. Mike Monley just to young to be gone. Well no body writes a book on here so I better close. Living in Myrtle Beach, playing golf twice a week to enjoy the 19th hole with new friends. God Speed.

Subject:Sun Transport employees still sailing..

I signed into the FPSO Turritella and was pleasantly surprised when Archie Slater came on as Bosun. Turritella is operated by SBM but will be under Shell control come Jan 16th. We have been reminiscing on the good people we sailed with at Sun. Those Sun days were the best ever in my 34 years at sea.
